Re: New Corrupt Excel 2007 XLSX2CSV

Here is a better download link. I just updated the file to remove
spelling errors. Here's the new Readme:
****Corrupt Excel 2007 XLSX2CSV Version 0.22 Alpha****
***How to use this program***
1. Click on the File Menu and choose Open.
2. Choose your xlsx Excel 2007 file from which you wish to salvage csv
files.
3. Choose whether the first row has data headers.
4. Choose which worksheet you wish to view.
5. Choose whether you wish to cleans the data from excess quotation
marks.
6. Edit the displayed CSV worksheet if desired.
7. Save the csv file to the name and file location you wish.
***About***
This program is coded in Perl by Paul D Pruitt (socrtwo) and uses a
modification of the Spreadsheet::XLSX and
Spreadsheet::XLSX::Utility2007 Modules in order to use the CakeCMD
unzipper, which doesn't care as much about corrupt XML files as the
default one in the Spreadsheet::XLSX module, Archive::Zip.
The custom modules Spreadsheet::XLSX::ZipMod and package
Spreadsheet::XLSX::Utility2007PDP,are included in the source folder.
These can be installed with a little patience using the instructions
here: http://world.std.com/~swmcd/steven/perl/module_mechanics.html.
Apparently the executable already includes them and doesn't require
the installation, so only install and use the source Perl script
corrupt-xlsx2csv.pl, if you intend further development say by adding
your own choice of command line unzipper. Also the 32X32 gif icon's
absence will also cause the perl script not to run.
***Important***
Please note numbers are presently rounded off to two decimal places.
This important issue is being worked on. Also some cells may not
display correctly if they currently have formula errors like 'Name' in
them. Future features will include the ability to save all recoverable
spreadsheets to CSV at once.
Also, although the command window may be disturbing, it is preferable
to the previous incarnation which flashed multiple CMD windows during
processing. Future releases will try to eliminate this.
It's vital to have CakeCMD and it's two dlls in the same directory as
perl script or executable, otherwise the program won't run. Future
attempts will be made to package the these three items in the
executable itself. Additionally, the excel-save32X32.gif file is
necessary to be in the same directory as corrupt-xlsx2csv.exe.
***Credits***
CakeCMD is by Leung Yat Chun Joseph:
http://www.quickzip.org/softwares-cakecmd.
It requires Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0:
http://tinyurl.com/ms2-0-netframework.
Also note, the original csv2tk perl script on which this heavily
relies is by Jerry LeVan <jerry.levan@eku.edu> and is available here:
http://homepage.mac.com/levanj/Perl/programs/csv. It's included as
csv2tk.pl in the source folder.
Special thanks to Sandeep Kumar, Dmitry Ovsyanko, Rob Polocz, Mr.
Ritty from Mahalo, the folks at Perl Monks and my brother Andre, for
technical support and encouragement.
